Index According to the results IeE08, Spain has overtaken Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia and the Czech Republic, being the second biggest has improved compared to last year, behind only Portugal. For example, the number of computers per inhabitant in Spain is about half that of France or the UK.
Access to ICT is the subscript that has the best data (rank 15), while the use of ICT shows still a high distance (position 21) in connection with the leading countries. The limited development of electronic commerce, the percentage of individuals who bought on the internet in Spain is three times lower than the UK or Holland, or the limited use of advanced services available electronic public are two of the causes for this position.
Improving the position of Spain in the ranking does not mean, however, that the trend of the fulfillment of the objectives of the Lisbon Agenda, suggesting that they be met in 2010. With data from the útlimo years, the estimates carried out in the report only predict that the implementation of objectives relating to households with broadband access, companies with more than 10 employees with Internet access and access through broadband of these companies.

the past five years the number of users of eGovernment services has increased by 50% to more than nine million users in 2007. One initiative that seeks to intensify the demand for digital public services by citizens is the issue of digital ID. The number of documents has grown considerably in recent months to achieve, in January 2008, more than two million documents issued in 138 cities.

The report includes a comparative study of the availability of public services on-line in all the Autonomous Communities, with results on 26 metered services. The percentage of average availability of these public services is 67%. The average of the 16 services aimed at citizens is 69% and the 10 targeted companies is 64%.
Asturias (91%), Madrid (84%) and Andalusia (81%) topped the ranking. We are Galicia and the Basque Country, forming the only CC AA obtained an average of more than 75%.
The rating service shows that no service reaches an on-line availability 100% in all the Autonomous Communities. Reach the highest levels of service complaints and suggestions, and university enrollment, with 97%. Spain exceeds the downturn in developing the Information Society
If 2006 was a slowdown the use of ICT in Spain, the respective variables suffered a slowdown in that year, this situation seems to have been a temporary blip in the development of Information Society and in 2007 the growth of these variables returned to a level at about similar levels to 2005, indicating that the momentum budget of the Avanza Plan in the period 2006-2007 is producing positive results.
If one looks at the intensity of Internet use, in 2003-2006 there was a significant incrementeo the frequency with which the English Internet access. In 2006, over 60% of Internet users accessed our country daily to the network, when in 2003 this figure barely exceeded 40%. However, between 2006 and 2007 there has been a reduction in the percentage of daily Internet use.
Performing comparative analysis in the state, shows the significant differences that frequency of use. For a significant proportion of Internet users in Madrid, Catalonia, La Rioja, Cantabria, Ceuta or Internet is a tool for everyday use, while in Aragon, Extremadura, Murcia and Navarra use is much more sporadic.
