More than two out of three Algerian women agree that a husband may beat his spouse, as recently published results of the third national survey of multiple indicators (MICS3) conducted by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) in collaboration with the UN.
The survey indicates some of the reasons why women say they can accept domestic violence: to leave the house without telling her husband to behave recklessly with the children, discuss with your spouse, who refuses sex or burn the food.
