7 out of 10 Spanish would be willing to relocate for work

The overall results of this study reveal that 78% of respondents would consider moving for work in the future, while only 22% said they would not. Participants from the Philippines (95.5%), Ireland (93.1%), Brazil (93%), Portugal (92.3%), Colombia (92.2%), Mexico and Central America (91.9%) and Peru (90%) were more willing to move for employment opportunities in the future.

Of those respondents who would be willing to move, 36.9% said they would be willing to relocate anywhere in the world for work, while 19.8% would travel within the country and 18.5% indicated would only be willing to travel a few hours away from their place of residence.

The results revealed that 40.5% of respondents willing to move said it would permanently relocate while one to three years was the next most popular (35.5%). Under 30 years were the most receptive to move for work either short or long term or permanent. Regarding gender differences, men are more inclined to move over longer time periods (four to six years or more), while women prefer projects that range between one and three years or less than six months.

As expected, the economic benefits were the main factor to be willing to relocate for work, since 81.8% of respondents cited salary as the main reason to consider a possible shift.
